The company was founded in 1982 in Calgary, Alberta, supplying and installing tile. In 1999, Active added a granite division that fabricates stone surfacing from slab granite and marble. In 2005, the company expanded its operations to Edmonton. With fabrication plants in Calgary and Edmonton, the company now carries in excess of 100 colors of stone and stocks over 2000 slabs servicing all of Alberta and into British Columbia. Frequent purchasing trips to Brazil, Italy and South Africa, result in fresh ideas and new stones regularly updating inventory.
